Movement within boundaries, solution for the boundless visa problems!
International Politics Working Group is trying to find a solution for the visa problems.
For many years bitter, bureaucratic visa problems have been averting the mobility of youth, unfairly. Applied visa policies want us-the youth- to deal with the pile of documents and the obligations to show personnel information are examples of the invasion of our privacy. Number of the violations on the human rights at boundaries is still not known. There is no reason to fail on eliminating these problems and we are the people to stop these illegalities. AEGEE-Ankara International Politics Working Group believes that by taking small steps we can reach our aim.

Our working plan consists; Presentations on visa policies and parallel to visa policies immigration, free movement in Europe, basic articles in treaties to get informed and the most importantly the analysis of Ankara Treaty-which is signed in 1963 between Turkey and European Union but came into effect on 1 December 1964 and in 1973 that annexed protocol is added to this treaty-. Shooting a tragicomic video about the problems faced in visa procedures and at boundaries to attract people’s attention to them. Making a public awareness on these mobility problems by communicating other nongovernmental organizations that working on the same issue. At the same time, our most important aim is to take actions for lobbying in order to provide free movement of students in Turkey and Europe. If you want to take a part in this work and try to change something, we would be glad to see you among us. AEGEE-Ankara International Politics Group gets together every Friday at 17:45 to remove boundaries in front of youth!

Would you like to have a say in the survey that will define the attitude of us youngsters towards the foreign policy of Turkey?

AEGEE-Ankara International Politics Working Group (IPWG) continues the survey project which was started back in the last term. This survey will be a research that is trying to investigate how much the university students are interested in the Turkish foreign policy within the last two or three years. In this process, Figen Uzar of the Middle East Technical University – Social Sciences Institute will assist the International Politics Working Group.

With the subject set as ‘Survey’ the International Politics Working Group will meet every Tuesday at the AEGEE-Ankara office at 17.45. Anyone interested in the subject is welcomed. Membership of AEGEE-Ankara is not a requirement to take place in the projects and other activities.
